Doe! We need a striker

Struggling to score goals in the early going, DC picked up New York Red BUlls cast-off Francis Doe this week, hoping that the bargain-basement striker can provide a spark to their ailing offense.

The 22-year-old has represented his native LIberia in 2006 World Cup qualifying and in the African Nations Cup. In eight appearances with the Red Bulls, he managed two goals.

In reality, Doe only provides some depth to a squad that already features last year's Golden Boot winner Luciano Emilio and Argentinean star Marcelo Gallardo, but the two talents have been unable to find a rhythm early.
