MLS Round-Up (Week 13)

JUNE 22
San Jose 1-3 DC United (RFK Stadium)
Three goals in five minutes in the second half left DC United on top 2-1 before Luciano Emilio added his eighth goal of the year to put it out of reach. Marcelo Gallardo returned to the DC line-up and provided two assists on DC's second and third goals. John Cunliffe scored the lone goal for the Quakes.

JUNE 21
Kansas City 0-0 Toronto FC (BMO Field)
Plenty of chances for both sides in this one, but no one could convert. Danny Dichio appeared to have won it for TFC in injury time, but he was ruled offside.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
FC Dallas 0-1 New York (Giants Stadium)
The Red Bulls were able to make a Kevin Goldthwaite goal in the 16th minute hold up in a physical match (31 total fouls committed) against FC Dallas.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Houston 0-0 Colorado (DSG Park)
Scoreless draws are boring to write about. Want to know what happened? Then watch this:

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
New England 1-2 Real Salt Lake (Rice-Eccles Stadium)
SInce 2005, New England has only lost four times when scoring the first goal, which they did Saturday as Adam Cristman beat a lazy defense to the ball for his fourth goal of the year. But RSL doesn't care about statistics apparently, as they dispose of the Revs with an own goal (Jay Heaps) and a deflection poached by Tino Nunez.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Columbus 3-3 Los Angeles (HDC)
Landon Donovan scored in his first game back from national team duty. Edson Buddle then got his ninth of the season from a tight angle, and it appeared that the Galaxy were going to run away with this one. But then Brad Evans cut the deficit in half, and a Guillermo Barros Schelotto PK equalized. LD converted the Galaxy's own PK with seven minutes to play, but a poor punch in the 88th minute by LA keeper Steve Cronin fell to second-half Steven Lenhart who leveled things again.
