It's official: Adu to Benfica

U.S. under-20 star and MLS never-was Freddy Adu officially joins Benfica, with MLS pocketing a mere $2 million for a player that was only a few years ago the posterboy for the league. My, how things change. Read all about it on Yanks Abroad. I had my say on the Adu saga a week ago. Click here to read why I think MLS failed Freddy.

Hi mate and fellow soccer fan :)

Firstly, thanks for choosing my Freddy vid.

Let me give you some more information about Adu's present.

He arrived at Lisbon airport and got quite surprised. As you know, soccer has a different popularity around here..
Nevertheless, he seems to be pretty humble and shy even with hundreds of ppl and policemen surrounding him :)
He did his first trainning the day after he arrived (that´s quite a professional attitude. Brazilian players, for instance, ask for holidays beforehand claimming that they are still tired).
Adu is supposed to fill the gap left by Simão. Simão Sabrosa went to Atlético Madrid for 20 million euros plus 5 million paid in a certain period.
Let´s see how Adu behaves here.

You are based in Portugal? Would you mind keeping my readers updated on how Freddy does with Benfica. It's close to impossible to get games from Portugal in the States. Shoot me an email with your insights if you feel like it and I'll post it on the site. Thanks,

P.S. - Nice video...I like the song choice :)

Translation:
Segundo esta imagem difundida pelo The Yankee Hooligan nem todos estão delirantes com o Spicy David. O que dirão do Abel Xavier?

"According to this pic on TYH, you cannot say that every american guy loves Spicy David. Well, if they dont, what do they say about Abel Xavier?"

Tip: Check Abel Xavier :) (Euro in France against Portugal for instance)

P.S.: Beckham is a world-class player. Maybe a bit too greedy though...Like Figo here.
