Bradley fires warning shot over English bow

In an article on the mlsnet website, USMNT coach Bob Bradley said that his players aren't headed to Wembley for a spot of tea and some biscuits.

"We treat these games as opportunities to gain respect ... for our players to step up and show where we are. We take them very seriously."

Goalkeeper Tim Howard echoed his boss' sentiments on the importance of the match and said that the U.S. will be ready to play.

"We step on the field expecting to win, we are not a pushover by any stretch of the imagination," said the Everton stopper. "We're going to fight them, and give as good as we get.

"It won't be a situation like we are a deer in the headlights. We won't be awed by the size of the game, we have something to prove as a team and we're up for the challenge."

Also interesting is the fact that Bradley refused to guarantee a starting spot for the all-time goal-scoring leader Landon Donovan. Considering that they left Jozy Altidore at home and their options at forward are currently Nate Jaqua, Eddie Johnson, and Josh Wolff (and Clint Dempsey if he isn't played on the wing), it is unlikely that LD won't start. Not to mention that he's sitting on 99 caps.

Kickoff for the the friendly is set for 3pmET and will be broadcast live on ESPN Classic.
