Is Shevchenko radioactive?

According to a report on British television, "even Major League Soccer" is passing on the chance to sign the once highly coveted Ukrainian striker Andriy Shevchenko.

According to the report, one "MLS boss" said about the 31-year-old: "Managers don't want has-beens who are looking to wind down their careers."

I would bet buttons to buttermilk that the "MLS boss" is Alexi Lalas. After all, he's likely the only MLS exec most of the British press know. But Despite Shevchenko's terrible form with Chelsea, an MLS club would be stupid not to at least consider trying to work out a bargain-basement deal for the one-time world Top 10 player.

I would be extremely surprised if a team didn't take a chance on the Ukrainian's ability to revitalize his career stateside. At the very least, he would bring his wife, American model Kristen Pazik.
