McBride headed (pun intended) home

Reports out of Fulham confirm that Brian McBride has rejected an offer by the EPL side and will return to Major League Soccer to finish his career.

McBride was the first overall pick by the Columbus Crew in the inaugural year and played (although not so regularly due to injury) for eight seasons. A tall, handsome white boy from the midwest, McBride immediately became a fan favorite with the Crew's racist fans.

But despite McBride's ties to Columbus, Toronto FC are first in line for allocation. However, uber blogger Steven Goff writes that a league source has told him that McBride will end up in Chicago, by hook or by crook (most likely crook). McBride grew up in Arlington Heights a suburb of Chicago that is located in the same county (Cook) as the Fire's stadium.
