Toronto target Newcastle striker

According to a report in The Journal, a Newcastle newspaper, Toronto FC is trying to lure Newcastle striker Shola Ameobi to Major League Soccer.

The 26-year-old Nigerian-born Englishman plied his trade in the Championship with newly promoted Stoke City on loan from Newcastle, and has been linked to former Newcastle boss John Carver's new side Toronto. However, media reports doubt that the Reds have the green to bring him in, claiming that Ameobi's asking price would be about £3 million.

It is clear, however, that Ameobi doesn't want to stay with Stoke, despite their promotion and rumors of a permanent transfer, and Carver's Newcastle connection could help in bringing him to North America. The Reds could certainly use the help in the attack, with only nine goals scored in eight matches.

But do they really want this guy? Here is the funniest (tribute?) compilation for a player that I have ever seen on youtube. Most of the clips show Ameobi screwing up, set to the tune of the theme from "The Greatest American Hero." Awesome.
